Start up – In-House School Mental Health Therapy Program
Trust us to start developing your schools in-house mental health therapy program by consulting and guiding you through the process to hire and supporting your in-house mental health therapist. Guided by the very own, Courtney Hinnenkamp, the first Wisconsin’s mental health therapist to begin a in-house mental health therapy program.
I’m passionate about supporting individuals and professionals to bring lasting change. With nearly 12 years of experience in the mental health field, I’ve worked across clinical, school-based, and community settings to empower individuals to live resilient lives.
Beyond my clinical practice, I have supervised and consulted professionals in growing their competencies and uphold ethical standards to serve their cliental and practice. I have 8 years of experience working in-house as a Mental Health Therapist in a public school district. Being the first Wisconsin therapist to be hired by a public school district, I develop an in-house mental health therapy program and assisted on multiple committees and systems to support the districts mental health needs. With such success, I have partnered with multiple school districts to establish their own in-house mental health therapy programs and provided consultation to support newly hired therapists in their transition into school-based roles. This passion lead me to begin my own business to advocate and assist school districts to continue to support their students mental health needs.
Whether you’re a fellow clinician, a school or business leader, or someone seeking healing for yourself or your family, I bring my full presence, expertise, and commitment to walking alongside you in this work.
I hold a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies (2011) and a Masters of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in AODA and Children and Adolescences, from the University of Wisconsin-Stout (2013). While obtained my Professional Counseling License in 2015.
What people are saying
“I used to doubt myself a lot, and many people told me to believe in myself, which was difficulty, but you encouraged me to try and assured me that failure wouldn’t have serious consequences. Now, even though I may feel nervous, I can speak up in class, walk with my head held high, all thanks to your assistance.”
18 year old, discharged client, 2 years in treatment.
“You have taught me that its okay to feel the way I feel and that my life is so much more than dirt. I came to you as a girl who didn’t know how to handle my past trauma, and left being able to work through my emotions, recognize different problems I wanted to push away. I want you to know I will carry your wisdom, kindness, and love with me out of this school.”
19 year old, discharged client, 1 year in treatment.
“You are a fantastic person to work with. Thank you for all you have done to support our most needy students, families and staff. Your support through difficulty days (and years) has helped me keep going on too many occasions to count.”
